Dolors Camats traveled to Brussels this week to strengthen relations with European institutions and explore new avenues of collaboration

Fundació Catalunya Europa strengthens its cooperation with the European Committee of the Regions

The Director of the Catalonia Europe Foundation (FCE), Dolors Camats, traveled to Brussels this week to strengthen relations with European institutions and explore new avenues of collaboration. During her visit, Camats met with MEPs Javi López and Jaume Asens to work together on promoting a stronger Catalan presence in European debates.

As part of the National Day of Catalonia celebrations, the FCE Director also attended the official reception of the new Councillor Jaume Duch, organized by the Catalan Government’s delegation in Brussels. The event brought together various political and social figures to reflect on Catalonia's role in Europe.

One of the key moments of the visit was the meeting with the Secretary-General of the European Committee of the Regions, Petr Blizkovsky, where long-term collaboration lines were agreed upon. The FCE will take part in the Committee’s 30th anniversary celebrations, a significant event given that Pasqual Maragall, former President of Catalonia, was one of its main founders and presidents.

Additionally, Camats held meetings with several civil organizations based in Brussels, aiming to create synergies and foster cooperation in areas of mutual interest, in line with the Europeanist values of the FCE.
